University Politics

Team Overview

  • The team for university politics is engaged to do the day to day work of keeping our study programs running as smoothly as possible. We represent the students toward the university, its administration and our professors. To this end we engage in an array of committee meetings and personal conversations.
  • In everything we do, we strive to achieve the best possible education and studying experience for our students

Responsibilities

  • Our day-to-day activities include representation in committees such as the Board of Examiners, Quality Management and School Council Engineering and Design. Furhtermore, we participate in the university wide student representation through the Student Council for Engineering and Design and the Council of Student Representatives (FSR) and associated offices.
  • Recently we contributed significantly to reworking our study programs in the reaccreditation procedure.
  • We participate in the search for new professors as they are anounced.

  • How can I join?
    • Join the student council general meetings and come up to us. If you are especially interested in one of the above-mentioned areas of activity, please let us know.
  • Are there any requirements for joining?
    • There are no general requirements for joining us. Anyone that is interested is welcome. For some of our committees German skills are required, though.
  • What do I get out of it?
    • You get to influence how things run within our university. Also, we have a unique view behind the scenes and great opportunities to get a first contact with professors. Participation in Faculty Recruitment Campaigns (Search for new professors) has the interesting experience of seeing an application process from the other side of the interview-desk which may help you in your own future applications.
